Had quite an enjoyable breakfast here. For the price and quality of food its hard to beat. Can't go wrong with the quiche or croissant sandwich. Quiche was fluffy and pretty flavorful and the croissant was satisfying. Also had a pain au chocolat pastry that was very tasty.

Price for quality is the key here if that's of concern.

First off, I loved that there was no wait time for this place as I was hangry and impatient. My fiance brought me here and we both enjoyed a veggie omelet, French toast with Nutella and a croissant salmon Benedict.

The French toast was good, but I'm used to my French toast being a little more banana-bread-pudding-like. Don't want to say it was dry, but it could definitely use more egg mixture before cooking. To each their own though.

The croissant salmon Benedict was good, even though my poached eggs had a little bit of water residue when I sliced them with my fork. I still enjoyed everything overall. The eggs were perfectly runny and the salmon was smoked.

I've had way too many egg Benedict's and french toasts in my life so maybe I was being too nitpicky, but definitely check this place out for yourself.

We came for lunch on Labor Day, and it was pretty busy. It's also a pretty small place.

We were in line by 11:26 AM, and had to wait some time to be seated because there was basically just one server to seat people and take orders. Not sure exactly what time we started waiting, but this is when we decided what we'd order so I snapped pics of the outside menu to remember pricing. We were seated by 11:34 AM, and I said immediately we were ready to order. He wasn't able to take it because he wanted to go in order of seated and/or keep the kitchen from being overwhelmed. Understandable, and I personally was antsy because we had a flight to catch after lunch and it was still hot inside. Hot and hungry ain't a good combo.

We got our drinks at 11:43 AM, and our food at 11:53 AM. We scarfed down our food and got the check by 12:11 PM. In retrospect, it wasn't as long as it felt at the time, and the server was very apologetic about it. Other reviewers did note slow service as well, so this is basically my long winded way to say it may not be wise to come if you are in a rush or are already hangry.

Anyways, on to the food. If the food is amazing, I'd return despite experiences like this.

Hot Chocolate $3.50: I did mean to try the hot chocolate gourmand $4.50, but didn't know until the check came out that I had gotten the regular one. That's ok though. It still tasted slightly better than what I get at the grocery store.

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice $5: Fresh squeezed indeed! Reminds me of the orange juice I typically get at Vietnamese restaurants, and that's a good thing.

French Onion Soup $7.95: Cheese was good. Broth was too light on flavor in my opinion.

Croissant Benedict $10.95: I could tell the croissant itself was fantastic. Flakey and perfectly toasted. In fact, it let me to add the almond croissant to my order at the end. The Benedict part was just ok. The hollandaise sauce wasn't as flavorful as my favorite spot in Seattle. I think a saltier ham would have been nice for more contrast.

Croque Monsieur $9.50: The only thing I liked was the cheese layer on top. The bread was too thick in my opinion, and again I think a saltier ham would have been nice. I didn't notice any sauce either.

Crepe with homemade caramel beurre sale $5.75: It's exactly a crepe with salted caramel butter. It was pretty good and felt like a light dessert due to its simplicity.

Almond Croissant $4.50: The croissant texture wasn't as good as the croissant from the Benedict. The almond filling was ok. Overall the flavor was fine, I think I would've liked a more crunchy texture. It did seem a bit soggy due to the filling to croissant ratio.

    My Star Ratings:
1 Star - Terrible. Just thinking about it makes me angry.
2 Stars - Meh. Unlikely for me to return.
3 Stars - OK. Open to coming back, but wouldn't go out of my way to.
4 Stars - Yummy! Will definitely return if I haven't already.
5 Stars - AMAZING!!! Would plan my day or even a trip around eating here.

    A food review:

Chocolate croissant was light and buttery with just enough chocolate to sweeten each bite.

Croque monsieur is a traditional French ham and cheese sandwich. Sturdy but soft pieces of bread cover simple pieces of unsalted ham adorned with melted cheese and white sauce. At this place, the gruyere cheese and bechamel sauce might tempt you back for more.

Was told that the bread is made in house except for the macarons.

Food came quickly-- service is friendly and leisurely.

The Le Croque Madame is delightful. Go with the triple deck - you won't be disappointed. With the gooey melted Greuyere cheese. The service is great and I believe the lady who is waitressing is the owner. She's nice and welcoming. The vanilla latte was good.
